Welcome to Paulette Hill from Paulette's by Design. I am fortunate to have met Paulette personally and was able to visit her studio in Sequim, Washington. She is passionate about creating fine works, and is also passionate about participating in making good things to do good in the world.
Paulette grew up in Washington and attended Washington State University and graduated with a BA degree in Home Economics - Clothing Design, with a Minor in Art.
Some fun information about Paulette: She participates in creative contests, one being a nationally-held Make It With Wool contest, where contestants tailor a complete wool outfit. The outfit gets accessorized and modeled, and contestants answer questions about their processes and the outfit is judged for couture tailoring techniques. In 2006 Paulette's pant suit ensemble placed 1st in Washington State and 4th nationally. In 2014 one of the outfits she created was featured in the June/July issue of Vogue Pattern Magazine.
Paulette continues to love cooking, tailoring, flower arranging, singing, drawing, and since 2009, jewelry designing. Currently, Paulette's favorite jewelry technique is wire wrapping beautiful stones and incorporating them into one-of-a-kind fluid, elegant necklace and earring sets. Paulette has also been commissioned to wire wrap customer-provided stones on numerous occasions and enjoys that as well.
Paulette and husband Rick own a catering business in Sequim, this being their 7th season as Sequim Fresh Catering. It is another way to express their artistic talents through delicious food prepared and presented in a beautiful manner. But when she's not cooking, Paulette is designing and creating exquisite jewelry.
Welcome to Glad to be Giving, Paulette!
